Momentum On-Ear Headphones: First Look
First off, big thanks to Sennheiser for sending me these exceptional Momentum on-ear headphones. The last pair of Sennheiser’s I reviewed before these, were the HD 219 S model. These 2 models are very different, so I wont really go into any comparison details. The Momentum On-Ear headphones come in a variety of colors, which include, Green (the ones I have), Black, Ivory, Blue, Brown, and many more (to check them all out, click here). The Sennheiser On-Ear Momentums come in a very nice packaging, and come with some accessories, such as; an extra cable, a carrying case and bag, and a user guide.
Pros: The headphones have a beautiful european style, they have a very durable high quality build, they are comfortable, the sound is fantastic, I like the light “noise-cancelling”.
Cons: They don’t fold up, the high’s could be a little more pronounced.
Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear – Build & Comfort
I personally found the On-Ear Momentum’s very comfortable, they have a brushed stainless steel headband, which makes them nice and stiff, providing a very snug fit. The top of the headband is covered in a very soft suede, combined with a dense padding on the inside. The ear-cups have very generous padding, and is also covered in soft suede. Im very impressed with the build on these headphones, and I think a lot of others who have reviewed them, also believe the same.
The cable on the on-ear Momentums are your average 3.5 to 4 feet long, which is ideal for city use, but you may want to think about investing in an extension cable if your expecting to use them in a studio environment. It is also equipped with track and volume control, along with a microphone for mobile use. The cable is also fairly strong, and is removable, which is great, in the case of a broken cable, or just to have the convenience of being able to detach it.
On-Ear Momentum Specs:

- 1 Dynamic Driver Per Ear
- Noise Isolating
- Frequency Response: 17Hz to 23 KHz
Momentum On-Ear Sound Quality
The audio on these Sennheiser Momentums is powerful, rarely should you increase the volume past half way! The sound is superb on these German cans. You can expect huge bass, rich mids, and crisp but subtle highs, creating an overall natural and very exciting experience. These are another pair of headphones that cater to a wide variety of music, mainly because of the excellent sound balancing. These on-ear Momentums don’t really cancel out too much noise, I would consider them to be 50% noise-cancelling, but they do a great job for a pair of on-ear’s.
