I’ve received a lot of questions recently asking for the best headphones that don’t leak sound. So I decided, why not make a blog post! The style of the headphone plays a big roll in how much sound will be leaked. I have tried to diversify this top 5 list of non sound leaking headphones, keeping in mind the different headphones styles, such as; On-Ear, Over-Ear, In-Ear. If the style of the headphone is not an issue for you, and you just want a pair of headphones that do not leak any sound at all, I would highly recommend the “in-ear” style. Lets take a look at the top 5 headphones that leak the least amount of sound.
#1 Bose QuietComfort QC20i Headphones
These are a very high quality pair of in-ear headphones. Not only do they virtually have no sound leakage, but they are also noise-cancelling. Bose has done a fabulous job on these headphones, making sure to have premium build quality, as well as world class sound. If you remove these headphones from your ears, and crank up the volume, yo will hear a little sound. But with these headphones in, even at a high volume level that you should probably not use them at, no body around you will be able to hear any sound leaking. These in-ear headphones are my number 1 choice, when I want to be discrete with my music.
#2 Sennheiser HD 219 S Headphones
Here’s a unique pair of headphones that leaks practically no sound at all. These are an on-ear style, made by the German company Sennheiser. These headphones are also noise-cancelling. Although the ear-cups are flat on this pair, they are made of memory foam, which shapes to your ears and creates a slight suction fit. This neat ear-padding feature, combined with the fact that they do not have huge audio power, creates a pair of headphones that is ideal if you don’t want any sound leakage. The sound is amazing on these headphones, check out the full review below.
Here’s a pair of full over-ear headphones that does quite a fantastic job at stopping that dreadful sound leak. These headphones are generaly used in a studio environment. They have amazingly detailed sound quality, making them a great pair of headphones for audio mixing. These headphones can also be used as a regular pair of do-it-all cans. These don’t leak any sound because they have a very tight fit, over-ear style.
#4 RHA MA750i Headphones
I had to put these on my little top 5 list, mainly because they don’t leak any sound, but also because they are so good at everything else also. These in-ear headphones are made by a British company, they perform like a pair of headphones 2 to 3 times the price! The build on these is amazing, and so is the sound. #5 Bose QC 3 Headphones
Heres another pair of Bose noise-isolating headphones. I’ve got them at the bottom because they don’t really leak much sound, but you can hear it if you really crank them up. So as long as you play it safe and keep the volume at a moderate level, these would be a great choice if your trying to avoid sound leakage. I also like them because they have amazing sound quality. Although they take a rechargeable battery to run, and are also on the pricier side.
